The End of Another Great Peak Season. Next Stop, an Even More Prosperous 2022.
At Barcelona Cruise Port, the end of the year marks the end of our second peak season of the year and some of our busiest months. It’s the final push in the race.
After a slow start following COVID-19, traffic is beginning to pick up and the forecast for 2022 is very positive. So much so that, whilst Spain’s general tourism didn’t expect to achieve 2019’s statistic until 2023, we have already reached that target by operating the same number of operations this December as we did in December 2019.
2021 has been a step in our business evolution as we have adapted to new health protocols and the implementation of new terminal infrastructures, all in accordance with the changing needs and demands of the cruise industry.
Javier Rodriguez Sanchez, GM to Barcelona Cruise Port, commented:
“We look forward to the challenges that 2022 could bring, it is a chance for us to demonstrate our new learnt skills and a chance to display the improvements we have made to our services provided.”
