Cruise Tourism for a Better Future
By supporting local businesses, fostering education, and preserving cultural heritage, we ensure that the benefits of cruise tourism reach beyond the present, leaving a valuable legacy for future generations. Believing in the power of collaboration and responsible practices, we work with our partners to shape a future where cruise tourism enriches lives, supports communities, and protects the environment.
‘Creuers’ continues investing in the Green Project; and this 2018 has acquired another 100% electric vehicle.

Port de Barcelona is one of the ports that is the most committed to Environmental Care. Greenhouse emissions is a major issue within all the ports that both cruise lines and ports are trying to overcome. The better technology we use within the ports, the cities and the ships, the better for our environmental future.
One of the projects that CREUERS has started as part of their Green Project is the “Improvement Quality Plan”. Within the first year of this plan, the 1st 100% powered electricity van is acquired. With this investment, CREUERS enhances its environmental friendly position.

On February 10, 2019, the Global Run event, the Barcelona Half Marathon, took place. Global Ports Holding PLC sponsored this race, which brought together a total of 19,000 runners from 103 nations. Among them, the following countries stood out:
– France (1,822 runners).
– United Kingdom (1,334 runners).
– Italy (785 runners).
– Germany (742 runners).
The remaining international participants, totaling 8,323, came from countries such as Costa Rica, Cape Verde, Cameroon, and the Virgin Islands.
The men’s winner was Eric Kiptanui, with a time of one hour and four minutes. Roza Dereje won in the women’s category with a time of one hour and six minutes.
As a fun fact, the first male and female runners to cross the five-kilometer mark each won a Pullmantur Cruises vacation, a prize presented by GPH CEO Emre Sayin.
In his speech, he commented:
We are delighted that this year’s Global Run has been such a great success and that it was truly a global event, with participants from more than 100 countries. We welcome millions of cruise passengers to Barcelona every year, and it is fantastic that so many people had the opportunity to experience this wonderful city during the event. Our Global Run initiative is an ongoing commitment, as the world’s largest cruise port operator, to promoting intercultural understanding in the places where we operate, and we are proud to continue supporting this initiative.
