"Gothic Quarter", is one of the four districts that make up the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. It is the oldest nucleus in the city . The Roman cardo and decumanus are the historical urban areas of the neighbourhood in its highest part, the old Mount Táber (current Plaza de Sant Jaume). In addition to the Episcopal Palace, there are the buildings of the main government institutions: the Royal Palace, the Town Hall, the Palau de la Generalitat, and more.
