On June 23, the summer solstice is celebrated, taking place the shortest night of the whole year. In addition, it coincides with the feast day of Sant Joan, combining the pagan and Christian traditions, since, during the day, the celebration of the saint takes place, and at night the celebration of the solstice.
 
Among the most important traditions that take place on June 23, we find the custom of drinking Cava and Coca de Sant Joan, a sweet made with candied fruit and pine nuts. It is a tradition that each Catalan celebration is served with a glass of Cava.
 
Also, during the night the celebration continues with the famous bonfires of fire, while the fireworks are contemplated. The bonfires of San Juan gather many people, who dance and sing on the beaches in the light of the fire, it is an ideal occasion to ask for wishes in a magical atmosphere.
